Job Summary:
Recruit participants for participation in investigations according to study protocol.. Conduct telephone interviews according to study protocol. Makes follow-up calls related to study activities. Completes all documentation of data associated with study activities.
In addition to survey interview administration, this position will be engaged with on-site recruitment activities for the Southern Environmental Health Study at various locations throughout the Middle Tennessee area with a primary focus on recruiting and enrolling potential research participants at health centers. Other locations may include community health fairs, neighborhood association meetings, and civic organizational meetings. It is anticipated that on-site recruitment activities will occur 3-4 days per week and will include some evening and weekend work hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Recruit participants for enrollment in investigation
* Organizes recruitment call priorities according to up-to date reporting tools
* Demonstrates correct use of recruitment and refusal avoidance/conversion techniques
* Demonstrates appropriate call etiquette and customer service skills
* Demonstrates thorough knowledge of study activities, consent features and participant rights as outlined in the informed consent document
* Performs an appropriate volume of calls according to recruitment load
* Schedules participants for telephone survey
* Conduct telephone interviews according to study protocol
* Performs appropriate volume of calls according to interview load
* Completes appropriate documentation of interview activities
* Calls participants for scheduled interview at the time that is scheduled
* Communicates irregularities/difficult interviews/situations/breaches of protocol to Survey Interviewer II/III
* Maintains and supports communication with study staff
* Attends and participates in Survey Staff Meeting and In-services
* Utilizes email as primary source of communication with study personnel
* Accesses and monitors email account for information regarding study activities
* Directs questions and concerns to direct supervisor
* Makes follow-up calls related to study activities
* Performs appropriate volume of calls according to load associated with call backs needed
* Communicates irregularities/difficult interviews/situations/breaches of protocol to Survey Interviewer III
* Completes all documentation of data associated with study activities
* Rename and upload all recorded contacts with participants
* Update information in database after each contact made
* Documents all activity and participant contact information as required
* Print appropriate hard copies and file in participant files
* Supervise Survey Interviewers for Quality Assurance and adherence to study protocol during call shifts
* Respond to inquiries from Survey Interviewers during call shifts
* Monitor call activity
* Provide verbal instructional feedback to Survey Interviewers during call shifts
* Secure study files, cabinets and work spaces at close of shift
* Assists in training of Survey Interviewer I
* Demonstrates interview and recruitment protocols during Interview Training
* Serves as respondent in practice interviews for trainees
