Part-Time

Summary:

The Sports Nutrition Dietitian provides individual and group/team nutrition counseling and education to enhance the performance of competitive and recreational athletes. Primary responsibilities include counseling individuals and groups on daily nutrition for performance and health translating the latest scientific evidence into practical sports nutrition recommendations tracking and documenting outcomes of nutrition services, serving as a food and nutrition resource for coaches, trainers, and parents providing sports nutrition education for health/wellness programs, athletic teams, and community groups and maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional practice.

Responsibilities:

1. Assesses and analyzes dietary practices, body composition, and energy balance of athletes in the context of athletic performance and health.
2. Counsels athletes on optimal nutrition for exercise training, competition, recovery from exercise, weight management, hydration, immunity, travel, and supplementation.
3. Provides personalized meal and snack plans to promote achieving short- and long-term goals for athletic performance and good health.
4. Provides medical nutrition therapy, as needed, to help manage or treat medical conditions.
5. Coordinates nutritional care as a member of multidisciplinary sports medical/sports science teams.
6. Evaluates nutritional supplements, including herbal supplements, for legality, safety, quality, and efficacy monitors use of appropriate supplementation.
7. Develops and oversees nutrition policies and procedures.
8. Coordinates with food service to meet the nutrition needs of athletes.
9. Develops and delivers nutrition education presentations, demonstrations, or events on various topics related to nutrition for performance.
10. All other duties as assigned.

Other information:

Technical Expertise

1. Experience in Nutrition and Dietetics is required
2. Experience working with all levels within an organization is preferred.
3. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required

Education and Experience

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Dietetics is required. Master's degree preferred
2. Certification: Registered Dietitian and Licensure in State of Ohio is required
3. Specialty Credential: Sports Nutrition Specialty certification preferred
4. Years of relevant experience: 1 Year Collegiate sports nutrition experience preferred
5. Years of experience supervising: None
