Job Summary:
JOB SUMMARY
Performs test requests in all service areas which may include hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, parasitology and necropsy, with occasional guidance. Ensures that results are valid and accurate and provides reports to customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Perform requested tests and operates all laboratory equipment. Interprets lab results and ensure data is accurate.
* Identifies and troubleshoots equipment failures or safety concerns.
* Performs postmortem examinations of laboratory animals following established procedures under minimal supervision. Prepares records of postmortem examinations.
* Prepares digital images of gross specimens.
* Performs tissue harvest with minimal supervision. Assists with training of investigative staff on basic pathology concepts.
* Performs quality control procedures and assists in resolving issues.
* Assists in the training of new laboratory personnel.

* Specimen Collection (Novice): Ability to collect all sample types and prepare specimen for downstream diagnostic testing.
