Job description:Actively support department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit including shift charge, department and/or service line. Ensure that care is delivered to each patient in accordance with quality standards. Act as liaison between physicians and patient care team. Maintain communication and promote cooperation with unit staff and other departments. Supervise the staff; authorize work procedures and assign duties. Provides input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management of associates. Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Personally, accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values. Day to Day Duties:* Developing strong working relations with surgeons, staff, and companies' representatives. Checking the operative schedule weeks in advance making sure all supplies and equipment are available.* Occasional running the front desk.* Ensuring ORs are staffed and getting relieved on time. * Scheduling, Rounding on staff and rooms. * Ensuring ORs are cleaned and ready for a procedure. * Putting instruments and equipment away. * Oversight of Operating Room in collaboration with OR leadership and physicians. * Ensuring ORs are prepared for procedures.* Secondary roles: Working in OR as a staff RN. Helping staff get breaks and lunch. 10 OR SuitesApprox. 450-500 cases per month Schedule: Full Time- 36hrs/ week- Evenings- Variable start/end times per surgical volume and unit needs. The Surgery Department at Littleton Adventist Hospital has ten operating rooms and completes 450 to 500 surgeries per month. Our specialty areas of surgery are orthopedics, general and neuro. The patient population is very broad. This is a desirable team because we are awesome! We are a highly specialized team with specific skills, and we have a variety of work tasks, so you can do something different every day. We can obtain CNOR certification after two years. We have a flexible team that is accommodating of work life balance. Our schedules are mostly Monday - Friday and call on weekends. We look for candidates that want to push themselves and excel above and beyond. A good fit for a department is someone who wants to expand their skills beyond traditional skills learned in school.
