Positions in this function require various nurse licensure and certification based on role and grade level. Licensure includes RN or LPN/LVN, depending on grade level, with current unrestricted licensure in applicable state. Positions this function include RN and LPN/LVN roles responsible for overseeing and participating in day to day clinical care of patients. Employees are involved in direct patient care (in a clinic, in-home care, etc.). Basic, structured, standard approach to work. Requires current unrestricted LPN licensure in applicable state.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Acts as a medical scribe for the Medical Provider when needed
• Prepares the patient for the Medical Provider’s examination by obtaining vital signs and patient history,
• Prepares and maintains the examination and treatment areas
• Prepares the patient for and assists with the examination, procedures, and treatments
• Organizes and maintains medical, medication, and immunization records
• Administers shots and vaccinations consistent with Medical Provider's orders.
• Performs inventory of supplies and equipment
• Performs routine maintenance and calibration of administrative and clinical equipment which includes sterilization techniques.
• Cooperates with other employees to achieve specific team goals.  
• Under the supervision of the Medical Provider:
• Responds to patient telephone calls and queries in a timely and amicable manner
• Oversees the quality of work performed by the Medical Assistants. 
• Makes follow-up telephone calls to patients
• All employees are expected to keep abreast on current medical requirements relevant to their position, which includes maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPAA and OSHA requirements

Required Qualification:

• Current and valid New Jersey State Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN) license
• Maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support HCP Certification
• Basic computer and word-processing skills
• Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance.
