Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the assignment and delivery of direct patient care. Provides direction and supervision for the Licensed Practical Nurse and ancillary nursing personnel when such care has been delegated. Availabiltiy Requirement: Perdiem staff are required to be available to be scheduled at least: Three (3) shifts per month including 8,10 or 12 hour shifts, or standby; and one weekend shift per month (including 8,10,12 hour shifts, or standby), for a total of four (4) shifts per month. Additionally, perdiem staff must be available to be scheduled two (2) holidays per year- one of which must be Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve or New Year's Day (holiday pay does not apply to Christmas eve or New Year's Eve) on 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts, or standby. This is an availability requirement which may not result in actual worked hours.
Minimum RequirementsAbility to demonstrate good customer service skills, exhibits patience and tact when interacting with all customers. Physically able to stand and/or walk for approximately 80% of the shift. Able to support patient weighing a minimum of 150 lbs. and supplies weighing a minimum of 40 pounds. Two years experience in acute care setting preferred. Able to prioritize and organize the multiple demands of the position. Able to identify occupational hazards and use safety precautions. Able to move about facility freely. Able to communicate appropriately verbally and in writing to patients, visitors, and staff. Possesses good manual dexterity, ability to execute detailed procedures, and visual and auditory acuity for patient environment assessment and required computer technology. Able to bend, lift, stoop as needed to perform patient care. Able to work independently. Able to recognize and respond to visual and auditory alarms/communications. Exhibits knowledge of National Patient Goals and adheres to policies and practices designed to increase patient safety.
Education/Licenses/CertificationsBachelor's degree in Nursing, or obtained within three years from the initial date of hireAdvanced Degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, ARNP) preferred
Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Washington.Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS certified).BLS / ACLS/ NRP/ PALS/ TNCC certified as indicated by unit specific or specific expectations. Position Type: Part Time - Regular
