Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Principal Hardware/Software Application Analyst adheres to best practices while providing leadership in supporting multiple healthcare applications including day-to-day operational issues, break/fix, configuration, connectivity & system integrations, maintenance, software upgrades, project management, and on-call rotations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors applications and takes corrective action.
Recommends software/hardware architecture improvements that conform to VUMC environment
Design, installation & administration of Microsoft servers, databases (SQL / Oracle) and networking solutions.
Trouble shoots devices and determines root cause analysis.
Supports healthcare applications with Project Plans, Technical Plans, Communication Plans with customers and vendors, Testing Plans, Implementation Plans, Go-live, and Post Implementation Review activities.
Leading by influences resources to achieve the requirements for product life-cycle activities.
Research recommendations that meet customer inquiries/needs.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:
PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE (ADVANCED): Demonstrates high levels of product knowledge. Is often relied upon by others for knowledge of the product and plays a lead role in projects related to the product. Has some experience in developing/supporting applications specific to the product.
BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE (ADVANCED): Demonstrates the ability to apply diverse areas of business knowledge to successfully meet broad work objectives. Knowledgeable, in detail, of the major functions of the primary business units of the company. Able to converse intelligently with users, customers, and management on the impact of technology and competition on the business itself. PROBLEM MANAGEMENT (ADVANCED): Demonstrates the uppermost levels of expertise in Incident Tracking and Problem Reporting in challenging and complex situations. Clearly articulates incidents and problems in a way that improves chances of quick resolution. Provides solutions that improve the design and architecture of the system. Makes recommendations that are creative and imaginative while setting a standard for others. Often takes a lead role in highly pressurized situations when there is a need to achieve results.
TECHNICAL ANALYSIS - (ADVANCED): Possesses detailed knowledge of assigned products' functionality and interactions with other institutional systems. Works with vendors to recommend new functionality. Takes a lead role in addressing highly complex technical issues. Successfully designs, develops, builds, configures, installs, runs reports, and performs maintenance support without guidance from others. Optimizes and standardizes design and build. Successfully handles multi-faceted and highly complex technical support issues. Generates and assigns tasks to others. Shares knowledge and trains others.
CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING - (ADVANCED): Demonstrates the ability to apply diverse areas of business knowledge to successfully meet broad objectives independently. Able to communicate intelligently with users, customers, management, and business leaders on the impact of technology changes. Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, identify discrete tasks, set priorities, define dependencies, schedule activities, and organize work for a diverse, multi-functional configuration plan. Competently handles multiple plans and projects simultaneously managing to commitments and deadlines while successfully navigating dependencies. Improves workflows and systems in the environment as plan results dictate.
TESTING - (ADVANCED): Demonstrates mastery of test planning, processes, and tools in highly complex test situations. Identifies potential flaws in test plans and takes action to remedy them. Shares knowledge raises the level of performance of others.
