Summary:
Responsible for the negotiation, analysis, coordination, communication, and administration of hospital contracts. Identifies product quality, process improvement and cost reduction opportunities through regular interaction with vendor personnel, hospital staff, and other resources. Promotes product and service standardization, financial responsibility, and best patient outcomes.
 Responsibilities:
1.Negotiates product, equipment and service agreements for the organization. Analyzes Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) and other contracts for cost improvement and patient outcome improvement opportunities. Presents findings to the physicians and staff, coordinates product / service evaluations and conversion action plans.
2.Stays informed of new technologies, professional trends, products and practices through hospital and supply chain publications, participation in professional forums and meetings, discussion with piers, meetings with vendors and working closely with hospital departments, physicians and staff.
3.Supports the Organization's and Supply Chain Management's project and cost savings initiatives and goals. Actively pursues cost and productivity opportunities to improve financial and patient outcomes.
4.Provide analyses regarding impact of contract changes to department budgets. Provides cost and trend information supporting department budget processes.
5.Drafts and reviews contract language, statements of work, and RFP (request for proposal) documents. Works closely with department managers and ACH's General Counsel to assure contract language promotes and protects the interest of the hospital and its patients.
6.Develops, manages, and maintains productive vendor relationships with strategic business partners. Conducts supplier business review meetings highlighting current cost and service compliance, competitiveness and business opportunities.
7.Manages ACH and Infor contracts, initiates timely review of expiring contracts, assures appropriate activation of replacement contracts or renewals. Collects and files contract documentation and tracks hospital compliance with committed contracts.
8.Encourages product and vendor standardization and recommends inventory containment opportunities.
9.Provides product information, education and support to Supply Chain Management personnel and hospital staff.
10.Performs other duties in support of the Supply Chain Management Team.

Other information:
Technical Expertise
1.Previous experience negotiating contracts and working with vendors required.
2.Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
3.Experience in healthcare is preferred. Previous clinical experience helpful.
4.Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
Education and Experience
1.Bachelor's degree preferred. May consider associate degree and minimum five (5) years' hospital Supply Chain Management/contracting experience, high school diploma and minimum seven (7) years' hospital Supply Chain Management/contracting experience.
2.Certification: Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) or related certification preferred.
3.Minimum three (3) experience required.
4.Years of experience supervising: None.
