Hudson Valley Hospice is looking for a motivated, boots on the ground Vice President to head our Patient Access department, which encompasses referrals, liaisons and admissions. You will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer, CEO, along with the Executive Staff. This is an office based position, working from the Poughkeepsie office.
The Vice President will provide oversight and management of direct reports of the Referral Center, Admissions Team, Liaison Team, and Director of Provider Relations. Oversees the operations of the Palliative Care program.
Responsible for ensuring staff utilize best practice and evidence-based guidelines, exercise best judgement and advocate for beneficiaries’ right to optimally access their hospice benefit. Authorized to staff the Referral Center and Palliative Care PC to ensure prompt patient access to hospice and palliative care services. Provides ongoing assessment and education related to clinical eligibility and service delivery. Acts as a resource for complex case review and collaborates with clinicians and medical directors when eligibility is not clear. Works collaboratively with the Chief Medical Officer to ensure staff are informed and understand all components related to eligibility for utilization of the hospice benefit and palliative care services.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in nursing preferred with at least four (4) years full-time senior management experience in hospice administration.
- Possess strong and effective communication and leadership skills.
- Hospice experience required, additional home care experience preferred.
