Psychiatric Nursing Assistant
The Nursing Assistant on the acute inpatient mental health unit is an integral member of the nursing care team. At the direction of the RN, the selectee provides personal care and emotional support for acutely ill mental health patients. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with patients and team members, excellent skills in motivating and redirecting patients to meet treatment goals, and ability to provide specialized care for acutely psychotic and suicidal patients is required Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
