You Will Be Responsible For:
Establishes goals and oversees implementation of patient food services needs based upon medical direction, patient population and hospital guidelines.
Complies with dietary restrictions on special or modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within guidelines of diet order limitations.
Visits patients on an assigned nursing unit or area and helps ensure that every patient is visited by a member of the management or professional team at least once during their hospital stay.
Supervises the daily activities of subordinates and assigns responsibility for specific work or functional activities. Trains new employees. opening and closing kitchen cafe, verifies patients diets as needed
Supervises all staff by assigning work, training, evaluation performance, progressive discipline and recommending termination as is appropriate and handles hiring
Ensures departmental compliance with applicable regulations, internal/external standards, policies and procedures
Performs duties as a customer experience ambassador, diet clerk, transporter or other positions based on need
Performs other duties as assigned
What You Will Need:
· Highs School education or equivalent
· 2+ Years of Position-Related Experience (includes both experience acquired at SMMC and elsewhere)
· 2+ Years of management and supervisory experience in restaurants or institutional food service
· ServSafe Certification
Under the direction of the Patient Services Manager, the Patient Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising the patient services areas within Nutritional Services, including patient trayline, patient tray delivery, patient experience ambassadors, diet office and diet clerks. The Patient Services Supervisor works alongside the Patient Services manager to ensure we are meeting providing the highest level of customer service to all patients and guests. Supports Patient Services Manager with department Patient Experience Initiatives. Supervisor effectively collaborates with leaders, staff and volunteers to provide service recovery and develop a proactive approach to improve the patient experience with the goal of providing Personalized Patient Care, Every Patient, Every Time.
