Veterans may need dementia, rehabilitation, long term, palliative and/or hospice care. Acute Care Medical/Surgical Specialty Clinic - The Specialty Clinics cover a wide variety of Medicine and Surgery specialties. The LPN provides care for Veterans with a variety of health disorders; with age ranges from young adult to geriatric. The LPN completes assigned duties and responsibilities which involve performing non-standard and specialized practical nursing activities, requiring broad work experience and demonstrated skill sufficient to resolve a range of nursing problems. Inpatient Medical-Surgical Unit Inpatient Psychiatric Unit - 7 West is a short stay psychiatric unit with both voluntary and involuntary admissions. Patient populations include Veterans who are likely to present with acute psychosis, bipolar affective disorder, major depression, schizophrenia and suicide/homicide ideation with plan. Some patients may present with concomitant substance use intoxication that may require detoxification while being treated for their presenting psychiatric disorder. DOM - The Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Program facility, also known as the Domiciliary, is a 64-bed residential treatment facility that provides treatment and rehabilitation for male and female Veterans suffering from PTSD, homelessness and substance abuse. Of these, 20 beds are specifically allocated to Veterans dealing with military related PTSD, including military sexual trauma Long Term Care 6 West is a 30 bed inpatient unit that provide medical care and specializes in cardiac and neurology care. Spinal Cord Injury The Spinal Cord Injury Service consists of a 38 bed CARF-accredited rehabilitation unit. This service provides care for medically complex patients including vent dependent patients, and provides acute SCI rehabilitation, medical rehospitalizations, post-op care, pressure ulcer treatment, annual evaluations, and outpatient treatment.
