The St. Cloud VA Health Care System is currently recruiting for a full-time, permanent, Psychologist - Behavioral Recovery Outreach (BRO) . This position is located in the Rehabilitation & Extended Care Service Line. NOTE: A recruitment incentive may be available for a highly qualified candidate. The applicant may also be eligible for student loan repayment. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Provide screening, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of depressive and anxiety-related disorders, as well as other Axis I conditions, with an emphasis on the application of time-limited, evidence-based approaches. Assess and provide treatments for sub clinical symptoms of dysphoria and anxiety, adjustment difficulties, and excessive use or misuse of alcohol or other drugs. Provide services to the families of Veterans with dementia being served by BRO Team, HBPC, Adult Day Health Care (ADHC), Dementia Chronic Disease Management Program, and Nursing Home Care Unit (NHCU), when such care is directly related to the overall treatment plan for the Veteran. Assess patients' understanding of advanced directives and other forms of consent and assist staff in determining how to present treatment options and other such material to patients in a format they can understand. Facilitate transition and adjustment to new living situations (e.g., nursing home, assisted living facility), and provide seamless intervention services, as appropriate. Responsible to provide evaluation to patients with dementia related symptoms and diagnoses as part of the Dementia Case Management Program and Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) Clinic. Apply new approaches to patient care through integration of approved investigative and research methods in clinical practice, basing interventions on evidence of effectiveness. Preferred Experience: Training in gero-psych gerontology desired. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
