Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time Evening
You Will Be Responsible For:
Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action,
Respond to emergency situations immediately, perform appropriate patient assessment and intervention and replace emergency supplies in a timely manner,
Demonstrate understanding of Code Blue and Rapid Response procedures,
Assure code blue intubation and blade boxes are checked daily and after use,
Assures mandatory hospital and department competencies are done annually in a timely manner,
Demonstrates ability to access department and Medical Center information,
Perform respiratory care procedures according to physician orders, department policy/procedure, and patient care plan
Associateâ™s Degree or Graduate of a Technical School required
Bachelorâ™s Degree preferred
Up to 1 Year of Experience required
2 years clinical experience for new grads acceptable in lieu of 1 year of work experience
Kansas Respiratory Therapist License
BLS through American Heart Association
NRP if working in NICU
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist provides direct respiratory care to patients in all areas of the hospital as outlined in Pulmonary Services procedure manual. Is knowledgeable in providing and evaluating the routine as well as critical care modes of respiratory care. Responsible for the effective and optimal administration of modalities based upon assessment and evaluation. Provides recommendations and/or changes to care based on patientâ™s current status.
