The Registered Nurse functions as a part of the Community Living Center which is made up of a 34 skilled beds and 6 Hospice beds. The Community Living Center provides a home like atmosphere for veterans while receiving care requiring long term antibiotics, extended physical therapy, wound care, hospice and respite care.
Major Duties: As an RN assigned to the Community Living Center (CLC), the nurse is primarily responsible for applying the nursing process to the care of veteran patients admitted to the Community Living Center and long stay unit. This includes, but is not limited to, assuring that appropriate documentation reflects assessment of patient needs, interdisciplinary treatment plans, clinical interventions, and evaluation of patients' responses to treatments. In addition, the nurse delivers fundamental, knowledge-based care to adult and geriatric patients. The incumbent provides direct nursing care to individual and groups of patients under the guidance and direction of the Unit's Supervisors.
