UChicago Medicine at Ingalls seeks a physician leader to be the Medical Director of Hospice/Palliative Care. Ideal physician will have 3-5 years of leadership experience with experience managing a Hospice and Palliative Care Program. Physician must be fellowship trained and BC in Hospice/Palliative Care and must hold active licensure in Illinois.
The physician leader will serve as the medical director of hospice and palliative care services, assuming responsibility for the coordination, development, evaluation and supervision of both programs
Physician will help nurture and significantly grow an already well-established hospice program and will lead in the organizations’ effort to build Palliative Care as a program
The Hospice and Palliative Care leader will collaborate/partner with a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled, compassionate professionals committed to providing the best possible care to their patients
The Medical Director will assume primary responsibility for monitoring and compliance of the hospice and palliative care programs with all applicable standards, regulations and requirements
Approximately 40% of their time will be spent on hospice direction and 40% of their time on the development of the Palliative Care Program
The oncology team will provide inpatient support and call coverage
