Evaluates the organization’s educational needs, new staff orientation, planning and delivery of ongoing education, and implementation and oversight of training programs. Ensures clinical staff competency as required by state and federal regulations. Researches and evaluates curriculum, educational materials and program success to meet staff and agency requirements.
KEY REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to Director of Quality, Compliance & Education
Assists Compliance and Human Resources in maintaining regulatory compliance and recordkeeping.
Provides supervision and direction to field and clinical staff
Researches, plans and implements required/necessary staff education and skills/competency training. Evaluates education and competencies for effectiveness, modifies if needed.
Develops and implements annual in-service calendar and ensures records are maintained.
Implements new staff orientation. Evaluates effectiveness of orientation by monitoring new employee progress. Modifies orientation when needed to improve new employee knowledge. Manages clinical skills lab.
Assists compliance officer in maintaining regulatory compliance. Includes regulatory compliance in staff training and monitors knowledge level of staff compliance.
Leads the Infection Control committee. Tracks and trends patient and employee infections.
Participates in Emergency Operations Committee meetings. Educates employees and volunteers on safety protocols.
Collaborates internally and externally in the development and shaping of new curriculum.
Establishes realistic budgets and uses financial and quantitative information to manage effectively. Monitors financial outcomes and makes timely adjustments as required.

Demonstrates knowledge in the following areas: principles of adult learning, medical documentation, management theories and group dynamics, hospice, home health and palliative care as established by federal/state regulations.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree, prefer BS in Nursing.
Minimum Experience: 2 years of progressively responsible nursing experience with supervisory experience. 3 years in developing and implementing training programs.
Required License: Colorado RN license. CPR Certification. Colorado state driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
