Are you an enthusiastic and skilled palliative care physician who is interested in helping to grow a Palliative Care cancer service line, through all settings of care, following patients in clinic and in hospital, and down the line into the community with partnerships through case coordinators and social work? In this dynamic role, you will be part of program growth, inpatient and outpatient opportunities, and community outreach.
As a palliative care physician in this role you will:
help craft and implement an education plan for our non-palliative care physician colleagues to gain core competencies in palliative care,
partner with community care coordinators and others to expand advance care planning initiatives into the community,
craft quality of care and quality improvement goals and processes for patients in the cancer center with advanced disease (ASCO-QOPI)
Palliative medicine consultation and education for hospitalized patients in Exeter hospital and patients in the outpatient Cancer Center clinic.
Engagement with the MGH Cancer Center faculty.
Be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team that ensures you have the support to deliver exceptional individualized care to patients.
Close collaboration with home health and hospice.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to be on the growth of a young and growing program. We have an active inpatient program that sees over 8% of annual admissions with an interdisciplinary team, including physician, NP, chaplain and social worker. We are growing into the Cancer Center, whose physicians are Harvard MGH faculty. The goal is to have all patients with advanced cancer seen by palliative care, and to have them followed in the clinic, hospital, and community.
Core Physicians is located on the New Hampshire seacoast, within a family-friendly community near the world renowned Phillips Exeter Academy. We have close proximity to Boston and Portland (3 airports) and train access to Boston five times/day. Along with the four season recreational opportunities, residents enjoy the added bonus of no state sales or income taxes.
Fellowship trained in palliative care
Completion of accredited medical college/university with Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
Current board certification/eligibility in palliative care. If newly graduated from residency, certification must be obtained within three years of graduation.
Successful completion of internship, residency and fellowship
Unrestricted license to practice within New Hampshire
Current DEA certificate without restriction
CPR with AED within 6 months of hire
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
