University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH) is seeking a full-time palliativecare physician to serve as the Medical Director of our Palliative Care program. Duties will include inpatient activities, development of an outpatient program, and leadership and expertise for the clinical functions of a growing program. Successful candidates will be board certified or eligible in Palliative Medicine, with a strong interest in program development and clinical experience in Palliative Medicine. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
The Palliative Care Program at UM UCH is a continuously developing 9-year-old program and is currently comprised of a lead physician, 2 NPs and a Palliative Care Social Worker / Navigator. The practitioners serve as expert palliative consultants to the multi-disciplinary service teams, adding care quality and cost saving value. Additional components of the UM UCH Palliative Care program include on site general inpatient hospice beds managed by a third party hospice provider and a 8-bed residential hospice program located within our community.
